By Tony Acree John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats had a chance against the Florida Gators in Gainesville to pick up a quality win in the SEC against a ranked team. Instead they got a first class butt-whupping. Kentucky saw the return of De’Aaron Fox and Mychal Mulder from time off do to illness, but they weren’t enough to turn around a season that is only a Malik Monk jumper in the final seconds against Georgia from a four game losing streak. Fox managed to score 19 points in his return and Monk 11, but they were the only Cats in double figures. They shot only 37 percent from the field, a paltry 60 percent from the free throw line and got out rebounded by 25. Calipari said after the game “I knew after Tennessee we had an issue.”
The Gators put four guys into double figures, Kasey Hill with 21, Devin Robinson 16, Canyon Barry 14 and Kevaughn Allen 12.
