After a terrible bowl loss to North Carolina State Monday Commodore fans needed some good news. If they checked Twitter they would have been noticed that they just picked up a bigtime commitment to bolster their offensive line. Three Star OT Jonathan Stewart announced his commitment on Christmas Eve in an early Christmas present to the Vandy faithful.

At 6’8, 295 pounds Stewart has a lot of upside and could become a stalwart on the O-line for years to come in Nashville. It’s easy to get excited about his size and if he can be coached up, the sky is the limit.
The Lawrenceville, GA native also had offers from East Carolina, Iowa State, Virginia, Southern Miss, Central Florida and a few other small programs. The commitment isn’t official as Stewart will have to sign his letter of intent in February.
Vanderbilt has really put an emphasis on their offensive line this year securing commitments from three star offensive tackles, Cole Clemens and Bryce Bailey so far for the 2017 class. Derek Mason also secured a commitment from 3 star offensive guard Grant Miller over the summer.
Mason is also trying to land 3 star OT Alex Palczewski who is coming for a visit in January. Palczewski hasn’t committed yet and is also high on Illinois and Syracuse. Jax Wacaser is another 3 star OT from out west who has interest in Vanderbilt. The Dores got in on Wacaser a little late and he has offers from high profile schools closer to home like Oregon and UCLA.
